Emergency Housing Assistance
Housing Eviction Committee: Are you at risk of losing your housing? If so, please contact Evergreen Townhouse Community 563-2223. One time emergency rent payments may be made to prevent eviction on a case by case basis. Cash assistance is provided in coordination with DSS and JCEO. ETC offers case managers to assist in resolving other issues that may place the household at risk of becoming homeless.

Nights, weekends and holidays: call 1-877-SHELTR1 (1-877-743-5871)
Housing Location Assistance: Families and individuals who are being sheltered by the Department of Social Services are referred to ETC Housing for assistance in finding permanent housing. Housing location services are also offered to families and individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless, but whose tenancies cannot be saved. Staff of the Homelessness Intervention Program maintain relationships with landlords and will assist persons to negotiate security agreements, leases and to obtain furniture. Staff follow up with re-housed households for 9 months following placement. Enrollment in the program is limited.

Fuel Assistance: Emergency assistance is available regular business days/hours by calling The Dept of Social Services at 565-3300. Nights, weekends and holidays from 11/1 to 3/31, please call Red Cross at 561-7280. Only kerosene fuel is available at the Red Cross.
EFSP Emergency Utility Assistance: Funds available to prevent/reconnect utility service. Call JCEO at 561-6310 or Local Community Outreach site.
HEAP application assistance: Available at JCEO Main Office and Local Community Outreach sites. Households receiving Temporary Assistance/Food Stamps must contact Dept of Social Services
